Tête-à-tête; Do You Unedited!

Abstract: So much is expected from you by the world, just for a perfect life. Have it ever been in your thought to show up imperfect, exactly the way you are?

The effect of movies/tv-shows cannot be over-emphasized, the lines are always well arranged and right in time, the relationship is perfect, and life, full and beautiful as you’ll ever imagine. So as a child, I fantasized about adulthood; I could finally have my apartment, luxury vacations, clothes, fancy cars, start a family, and live happily ever after, it was a beautiful sight. The picture started appearing vague as I became a teenager; the importance of showing up perfect, like you have everything figured out, the responsibility that comes with maturity and so much more. Then I thought to myself one day “it’s funny how all the training and grooming is for perfect adulthood, what if I show up imperfect?”.

We should ban extreme movies, so unreal!

The beauty of life is the difference in personalities, thoughts, ideology, and even looks. Take cats, for example, there are so many different breeds, British shorthair can’t be Persian, neither can Persian be Maine Coon, and that’s what makes it beautiful. There can only be one Achom Praise Iheoma Ayomi, and one of YOU as well, everyone else is taken.

We’ve heard the lie that we have to come across as perfect so much that we now believe it and have built a model around it. Tell yourself the truth, how far have you gone with that?

The real adult view about life is this;

The resources you have right now are what you need at this point, you’re moving exactly at your pace, with no pressure at all.

Why do people take 30 pictures, delete 25 of them, and edit the remaining 5, but post just 2 because they seem like the best ones?

Why do people succumb to so much pressure from the media?

Why should you be a contribution to the mishap in our world?

When all the world need is YOU, as raw and unedited as ever. You are not living your dream because you are living your fears, substitute the negatives for positives. Be optimistic.

So you stare daily at your beautiful and complete life and still feel like so much editing has to be done? Ignore all those lies, you are perfect just the way you are. You don’t need to live anybody’s standard. You are beautiful. You’ve got this!
